Center for 21st Century Issues in partnership with Natural Eco Capital and other partners organised a two-day capacity building programme for women group representative in Nigeria on October 16-17,2020 at Abuja.

The programme objectives addressed women’s limitations or lack of capacity to engage climate finance and the GCF processes, targeted gender-based barriers that restrict women’s access to climate finance and key GCF resources needed to mitigate, adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change as well as integrate gender, women’s empowerment and climate resilience into policies, action plans and budgets around water, health, sanitation, energy, food security and livelihoods. To this end, ensuring a bottom-up approach in catalyzing climate action that benefits women and the most vulnerable.

The event was well attended by representatives from relevant MDAs and relevant women groups in the country.

At the end of the two-day training, a communique of action developed on quick steps to continue to the community of Practice.
