A One-Day Seminar for the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment on “Understanding the Circular Economy at Sub-National Level”

29 Jan, 2019 | | By: Rantiola Akinola

It is understood that ‘systemic transition to a circular economy requires cooperation across different policy areas and levels of government. It demands to address cross-sectoral linkages as well as a multi-stakeholder and partnership approach involving regional and local governments, the private sector, Consumers, science and technology actors and the business community.

But how can a sub-national government lead the way in this transition with initiatives that are best for the circular economy to develop and flourish? This gave rise to the organisation of a one-day Seminar for the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment Staff recently (Feb 28, 2018), Environmental Services Department in Lagos, Nigeria under the topic: “Understanding the Circular Economy at Sub-National Level”

The seminar which was declared open by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Abiodun Bamgboye and moderated by the Director of the Department of Environmental Services, Mrs Belinda Aderonke Odeneye was attended by 60staff of the Department.

The seminar was organised and conducted by a team from Natural Eco Capital led by Dr Eugene Itua,  Natural Eco Capital is a member of Natural Capital Coalition, Circular Economy Club, Climate Chain Coalition and Climate Technology Centre and Network
